10K Concurrent Training Program

10K Concurrent Training Program

Maintaining a good cardiovascular base is not only important for achieving optimal health, it may enhance your muscle building efforts. It can be argued that it is hard to build muscle while you are increasing your mileage and preparing for a longer distance race, but I have had some clients who have had some great success with shorter distances. Who wouldn’t want to look jacked, lean, and be able to run or row on demand at a competitive level? I have created this 10K concurrent training plan for anyone who wishes to include some running and rowing training with their lifting, all while preparing for a 10K race. Sure, you can piece together a lifting program with a running/cardio program, but a lot of the time, that may lead to over training, as neither program considers the other’s volume in its design. This program should help you increase your endurance, all while improving your strength and hopefully adding some muscle. There are 4 days of lifting, and conditioning days vary from 4-6 days a week.
