The Ketocounterculture Powerlifting Meet Prep template is a 10 week, 4 day a week program designed to peak your current strength for your next powerlifting meet. As with the off season template, I recommend you are fat adapted before preparing for a meet on a ketogenic diet. Ideally, you would dedicate 10 weeks to an off season program as you adapt to this diet, then another 10 week off season to build strength, and finally a 10 week meet prep.

This meet prep template is one I used about 3 years ago when I was preparing for a raw meet with the APF. This was the first meet I did with just a belt and no wraps (knee sleeves were not even allowed for raw). I ended up with a 606 squat, 397 bench and 667 deadlift at 220 lbs. Not my best meet, but a solid effort, and one that I built on in later meets. This was also the first meet I had done after getting help on my deadlift form from Brian Carroll. Extremely conservative attempt selection meant I only hit a 17 lb PR on my deadlift, but I would blow that out of the water 5 months later with my first 700 lb deadlift. Keep in mind that with this program, I took my personal weaknesses and strengths into consideration, and that informed my selection on my assistance movements. If you would like to learn more about how to tailor your program to your specific weaknesses and strengths on each lift, I highly recommend you buy Brian Carroll’s 10/20/Life.
